Cleaning tips that'll make your bathroom a better place

Eliminate lime deposits
In a bathroom, lime deposits are inevitable. They are found on taps and on the shower head in particular. No need to use household chemicals to get rid of these deposits. Go for lemon. Spray your faucets and shower head with lemon juice and let sit for a few minutes before rinsing them.

To descale a shower head, you can also unscrew it from its holder and immerse it in a container filled with white vinegar. Leave on overnight. If your showerhead does not come off the shower column, one trick is to fill an airtight bag with white vinegar and hang it with a rubber band around the showerhead.

Clean and shine the tiles
Our grandmothers had no shortage of tips for cleaning and shining tiles, which is very common in a bathroom. Especially with the simple use of dishwashing liquid. A high performance product mixed with hot water in a sprayer. Just sprinkle it on the wall tile or bathroom floor and let it sit for two or three hours.

Wash the shower curtain
The shower curtain is very exposed to lime and moisture. It stains easily and tends to turn black from mold. You can restore it to its youth with just water mixed with soap. Unhook your curtain and rub it with a sponge soaked in this mixture. If it is badly stained, you can also rub it with a brush with white vinegar to, among other things, remove mold. Then put it in the washing machine at 30 degrees.

Removing mold from tile jointsNothing could be easier to remove unsightly black traces of mold from the joints of bathroom tiles. Several solutions are available to you: mix with water, either Meudon white, or clay stone or baking soda. Use a toothbrush to rub blackened joints with this mixture and let sit for an hour. Then rinse. To restore whiteness to the joints after cleaning them, use a cotton swab impregnated with hydrogen peroxide or half a lemon with coarse salt.

Eliminate bad odors from bathroom pipes
The bathroom is the room where there are many pipes, between those of the bathtub, the shower, the sink and sometimes those of the toilet. And often, they are the source of bad smells in that clean and healthy room we love. So think about white vinegar, the perfect way to combat these inconveniences. You can pour it in all the pipes. This miracle product will eradicate bad odors with the added benefit of disinfecting power.

To go even further and clean your pipes, prepare a mixture of four tablespoons of baking soda and boiling water. Pour it delicately into the siphon of your shower, your bathtub or your sink.

Make the taps shine
The taps are unfortunately the inevitable source of bacteria and lime. It is therefore advisable to clean them regularly, but also to disinfect them. To do this, rub your taps with half a lemon. In addition to cleaning them thoroughly, the lemon will help to make them shine. For stubborn lime traces, use white vinegar instead.

Clean the shower screens
Whether the shower screens are made of glass, plexiglass or plastic, it is recommended to remove all traces of lime after each use with a squeegee, and to dry them immediately.  Despite such precautions, traces of mold or tartar may appear. To overcome it, simply apply warm white vinegar or lemon juice to it.

Clean mirrors and windows
Several grandmother's tips exist to clean and remove traces on mirrors and bathroom windows. The first is to wet these media and rub them with newspaper. The other trick involves using a mixture of water and white vinegar, washing-up liquid, or lemon juice. Spray your mirrors and windows with one of these mixtures, clean with a sponge and wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Disinfect the toilet
If you have a toilet in your bathroom, think of some simple tips for disinfecting them. By scrubbing them with black soap, Marseille soap or white vinegar, you can be sure not only to thoroughly clean your toilet, but also to destroy any germs present.
